"Chavurah" comes from the same root as Chaverim, which means friends. About 60 Chaverim singles, couples and families enjoyed being part of a Chavurah last year. Each Chavurah group is made up of about 10-12 couples or families or up to 20 individuals who get together once a month, usually on Sunday mornings, to celebrate Jewish life. We meet at members’ homes, at a park, at the synagogue or anywhere the group decides. The goal of the Chavurah program is for members of the synagogue to feel connected to others—to be a part of a Jewish community.
